As We Enlarge Your Photo We Actually Increase Its Quality
Print-It-Big always increases the standard ppi (pixels per inch) of any photo that we receive to 300 ppi from 72 ppi -- the standard resolution from most digital cameras.
By doing so, we effectively improve the quality of your digital photo as we increase its size by using sophisticated interpolation software.
For example, you might send us a 1536 x 2048 pixel image (which translates to 21.3" x 28.44" at 72 ppi). After increasing that same image to 300 ppi, the pixel dimensions become 6390 x 8533, thereby eliminating or at least reducing the impact of seeing jagged edges.
